Stardust
January 21, 2020

Gallery curated its first-ever group exhibition, STARDUST. The show presents installation, illustration, drawing, painting, graphic design, ceramic sculpture, photography, film and animation. Ten emerging to mid-career Hong Kong artists come together in an eclectic dreamland of bold emotions and iridescent sensations.

This exhibition focuses on female artists with the aim of opening a conversation based on personal experience. Through a collaborative process, the project searches for deeper understandings of current dichotomies and creative solutions in Hong Kong’s hyper-competitive climate. Gender is not approached as a theme, definition or category but the basis for a community.

Why Stardust? Stardust is all-encompassing. The ultimate philosophy of unity without uniformity. It is the atoms within us yet remains unknown. Like love, it brings both joy and pain. It is neither positive or negative. It has no agenda. It does not stand in opposition nor does it make statements. Everything exists equally.  Its only truth is experience; whether as a body, a soul, a force of nature or a speck of dust. It is the spark of something new and the remnant of destruction. Its identity is forever changing. Each moment is a blank page.

宀 Gallery is excited to begin the year with a new format for its seventh exhibition. We are grateful to the artists who entrust us to share their work and look forward to the new possibilities these collaborations bring.
